Western Philippines University (WPU) showcased the ingenuity of its student innovators during the WPU IDEA Pitch: Innovation, Development, Enterprise, and Agribusiness Pitch Competition 2026 held on July 22 at the WPU Training Center, Main Campus.

With the theme “Empowering Youth Agripreneurs through Agristart-up Pitching,” the competition challenged students to transform innovative ideas into viable and sustainable agribusiness ventures. Eight finalist teams pitched their business concepts before a panel of judges, demonstrating creativity, market viability, and entrepreneurial potential.

Below is the list of winners:

  • Champion: High-Protein Cassava Chips – Third-Year BS Agribusiness, WPU Main Campus
  • Second Place: Project Ubeyond – Fourth-Year BS Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering
  • Third Place: Crunch Mix – First-Year BS Agribusiness, WPU Main Campus
  • Special Award: Better Bite Bitter (BBB) – BS Agribusiness, WPU Quezon Campus

Organized by the Agribusiness Department of the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Sciences (CAFES), headed by Mr. Eduardo E. Lleve and the Agribusiness Students Association, the event was conducted in partnership with the Department of Agriculture–Young Farmers Challenge Program MIMAROPA.

The competition reaffirmed WPU’s commitment to nurturing innovation, entrepreneurship, and enterprise development among students, empowering the next generation of agripreneurs to create sustainable solutions for the agriculture sector.
