Western Philippines University proudly participates in the 10th International Forestry Summer Course hosted by the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Gadjah Mada, in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Representing WPU are Mr. Reagan Venturillo, a faculty member from the College of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, and Ms. Charity Grace Moreno, a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management student. This year’s course carries the theme, “Forest for Life: Managing Ecosystem Services in a Changing Climate.”

Their participation reflects WPU’s commitment to exposing its faculty and students to international training, academic exchanges, cross-cultural communication, and global learning opportunities. Through these experiences, participants can broaden their knowledge, strengthen their professional competencies, and build meaningful connections with experts and students from other countries.

This participation also marks an important milestone in WPU’s newly signed Memorandum of Understanding with the UGM Faculty of Forestry, which aims to promote faculty and student mobility, research collaboration, and other academic initiatives.

The photos highlight the formal exchange of the signed MOU with Ir. Sigit Sunarta, S.Hut., M.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU, Dean of the Faculty of Forestry.

Through this partnership, WPU continues to strengthen its international presence and create more opportunities for its faculty and students to learn, collaborate, and engage globally.
