Western Philippines University took part in the 3rd Synchronized Pista ng Kalikasan Tree Planting Program on June 20, 2025, at Sitio Talakaigan, Cabigaan, Aborlan, Palawan. Themed “Panumbalikin ang Kagubatan: Kalikasan, Kabuhayan at Kinabukasan”, the event brought together local stakeholders in a shared effort to restore degraded forest areas.

Faculty from WPU’s College of Agriculture, Forestry and Environmental Sciences, along with BS Environmental Management interns and BS Forestry practicum students, actively joined the planting activities. Their participation highlighted the university’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and hands-on community engagement.

The event served not only as a reforestation initiative but also as a space for collaboration among government units, academic institutions, and community members. WPU remains committed to contributing to sustainable development efforts in Palawan and beyond.
