Western Philippines University (WPU) participated in the recently concluded DBM MIMAROPA Regional Budget Forum for the FY 2027 National Budget, held on February 5, 2026.

Pursuant to DBM National Budget Memorandum No. 1561, the forum, led by DBM MIMAROPA Regional Director Ricky Sanchez, guided participating State Universities and Colleges on updated budget preparation guidelines, forms, and reporting requirements to ensure accurate and timely submissions of programs, projects, and activities.

Representing WPU were University President Dr. Amabel S. Liao; Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Ria Sariego; Chief Administrative Officer for Finance Mary Jane Rabang; Budget Officer Gene Michelle S. Paduga; Accounting Officer Amyr Lien Miranda; and Planning Officer Eduard Palay.

The University was also recognized as the first SUC in the region to submit its FY 2024 Budget and Financial Accountability Reports (BFARs)—a testament to its commitment to fiscal discipline and accountability.
