Yesterday, October 10, 2024, the Regional Director of DOST urgently called for a meeting to explore potential collaborations, including implementing a “Training for Trainers” program in 2025. WPU is now considered a hub for Halal training and research in Western Philippines and beyond. This positions the university as a key player in advancing knowledge and skills related to Halal practices.

Further expanding its reach, WPU has already engaged in initial discussions with state and private universities from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand through Zoom before the launch. These discussions focused on potential international collaborations in Halal research, setting the stage for WPU to become a leader in this field across Southeast Asia.

The Muslim community expressed deep gratitude for the university’s continued support, while the broader academic and professional communities eagerly anticipate the growth of Halal research and training. This initiative enhances WPU’s reputation and promotes a culture of respect, inclusivity, and innovation.
