Western Philippines University promotes employee well-being through initiatives that support the physical, mental, and social health of its faculty and staff.

The university infirmary is accessible to individuals seeking health assistance, including those who need mental health support. For serious cases requiring specialized care, referrals may be made to appropriate health professionals or facilities. This provides a point of access for individuals who need further assistance.

In September 2025, as part of the celebration of Lingkod Bayani Month, the University launched HIGA: The Faculty and Staff Wellness Space, a dedicated facility designed to provide employees with a safe and relaxing environment to unwind, recharge, and support work-life balance. This initiative reflects WPU’s commitment to fostering a supportive workplace that recognizes the importance of employee well-being.

Complementing this initiative, the University offered LUSOG: Official Time and Free Service to ACE Medical Center, which provided faculty and staff with access to annual physical examinations.

WPU also introduced LARO: Training on Work-Life Balance through Sports, a weekly sports and recreational program held every Thursday. By encouraging regular physical activity, stress relief, and social interaction among colleagues, LARO contributes to employees’ mental well-being and helps promote a healthier balance between work and personal life. WPU also sustained its ThursPlay/ThursYay activities to encourage physical activity, relaxation, and social interaction among employees.

Through these initiatives, WPU demonstrates its commitment to promoting employee wellness and maintaining a healthy and supportive working environment.
