As part of the 125th Civil Service Month celebration, Western Philippines University spearheaded an Orientation on the Revised Rules on Administrative Cases (RRACS) with emphasis on committed sexual harassment cases and the updated disciplinary rules, alongside a PNPKI Enrollment Workshop last September 26, 2025 at the WPU Main Campus Gymnasium.

The orientation gathered university personnel to deepen their understanding of the 2017 and 2025 RRACS, which serve as the primary procedural guide in handling both disciplinary and non-disciplinary cases involving government employees. With sexual harassment identified as one of the most pressing workplace issues affecting employee well-being, the activity highlighted the need for greater awareness, fairness, and consistency in resolving cases while preventing procedural lapses that may delay or even dismiss complaints.

Legal experts from the Office of the Solicitor General served as resource speakers, led by Assistant Solicitor General Justice James Lee Cundangan (via Zoom), along with Atty. Roel Vincent G. Castro and Atty. Lilian C. Abenojar, both Senior State Solicitors, and Atty. June Abigail S. Dela Cruz, State Solicitor II. Their lectures provided in-depth discussions on the significant revisions in the rules, offering practical guidance to HR, legal, and administrative officers in carrying out their duties responsibly and in accordance with due process.

In addition to the orientation, the PNPKI Enrollment Workshop empowered key officials of the university with a government-recognized electronic signature, enabling them to process paperless transactions that are secure, efficient, and accessible anytime, anywhere. This initiative supports the shift toward digital governance and improved public service delivery.

Aligned with the goals of the 18-Day Anti-Violence Against Women Campaign, the activity also reaffirmed WPU’s commitment to protecting human rights, addressing gender-based violence, and fostering a safe and accountable workplace.
