A group of fourth-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) students from Western Philippines University earned international distinction after their study was selected among the Top 10 Best Researches at the 8th International Higher Education Research Forum (IHERF 2025) held at the Summit Ridge Hotel in Tagaytay, last November 26-28.

The student researchers: April Faith T. Reyes, Hannah Ysabelle V. Rizallosa, Glades May S. Bacaltos, Krystle B. Betorin, Lyka C. Besoyo, and Kristel Anne M. Zabalo presented their paper titled “Procrastination Uncovered: Exploring Experiences, Contributing Factors, and Intervention Strategies of Education Students,” which emerged as a finalist from over 300 paper submissions, with only 10 studies making it to the final list.
The research was conducted under the guidance of their adviser, Assoc. Prof. Eva Niña B. Lopez, whose mentorship helped steer the study toward national and international recognition.
Their achievement underscores WPU’s growing excellence in undergraduate research and academic productivity in teacher education.
