Dr. Amabel S. Liao, the President of the University, was honored with an invitation to participate in the 85th Regular Session of the 44th Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Palawan. During her address, she conveyed her commitment to serving the community.

On March 5, 2024, at the 84th Regular Session of the 44th Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Palawan, a Resolution was passed in strong support of Dr. Amabel S. Liao’s leadership as the newly appointed President of Western Philippines University. This Resolution was put forth by Hon. Rafael V. Ortega and Hon. Ryan D. Maminta, and was co-authored by all members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Palawan.
